For Halloween I decided to go all out for a massive $3000 costume contest in Downtown Orlando, I spent 25 hours with the help of my friends Micheal G. and Micheal T. (I know its awesome that they have names like that) from the Orlando Party Store www.orlandopartystore.com. While I created the majority of the Big Daddy Cosplay, they created the head, drill and lighting within the eyes and helped me transport the costume to the contest on Halloween. While, we did not win the contest (we got 4th out of 175 contestants) we had an amazing time and got excellent publicity for both myself and the Orlando Party Store. The next year we are planning to go as a 10 foot Bowser from Mario Bros and add both glowing eyes and a smoke effect to make it look like he is breathing fire! Happy late Halloween!
Having done a ton of balloon hats for my daughter's last birthday, I have a new-found admiration for the art of balloon animals, or in this case, full-on awesome cosplay. Well done!
Thank you very much! I love challenging myself to go beyond what most people think of with balloon animals! I would like to see some of your balloons if you have any pictures!
The best part about this costume is how light-weight it is! But seriously though, this looks amazing. How did you not get first place? D:
I still do not know, although I will say that the couple that won were an exceptional Mad Hatter and Queen of Hearts!
Waaaaaaaah!!! It looks like such a fun costume! I can see why you placed the top 5/10! xDD
Can you even see where you are going in that thing?
Because there were some gaps in between the head it allowed me to be able to see fairly well and made the cosplay very well insulated!
Thank you very much! I try to push myself with every creation that I make especially when it is a big creation!
takes a lot of time, doesn't it?
Absolutely! This took about 25 yours to complete, it would have taken less time but I eneded up having to redo some parts of it!
You continue to amazing me sir, you certainly are No Ordinary Balloon Man, too bad I dont see you around more, I'd love to see these things in person.
I know, I do still do the conventions but at the last two I went to, I either did not complete my cosplay until the last day or I most met my favorite voice actors! At Asylum in Tampa last week I met Kevin Conroy and Scott McNeil, they were both amazing and I made them balloons of the characters they played! And thank you very much, I hope to get to see you at a convention before the year is up!
I love Scott McNeil i've met him a couple times at conventions, hes fun.
Though I do envy you for meeting Kevin Conroy, you lucky dog you.
Thats super cute that you made them balloons of their characters,
I can only imagine how awesome they were. It would be awesome to run into
you with one of your awesome cosplays. It really is a special talent that you
have there sir.
